The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) was passed by Congress in 1993 to protect the free exercise of religion. Since then, the law has been exploited by the religious right as a basis for imposing their beliefs on others, most notoriously in the 2015 Hobby Lobby v. Burwell decision. In our Secular Power Panel, three RFRA experts will explore the impact law has had on public policy, how it has shaped our fight for a secular government, and how it continues to pose a grave threat to true religious freedom.
